Exciting programs tailored to the age and experience of the child. Our raptor program features a Bald Eagle, an owl, a falcon, and includes a free-flying hawk. Children learn about the importance of different raptor species, their specially-adapted tools, and their role in our ecosystems. They will have the opportunity to see and experience the bond between a wild raptor and its handler when the bird is released in the field and returns when called. During our all-day Safari Mini-Camp at the Denver Zoo, children get the inside scoop on some of the zoos most popular animal families and explore how the cute and adorable zoo babies grow up at the zoo and in the wild. Children have the opportunity to meet animal guests in a classroom, while exploring key concepts in numerous academic subjects. Another program finds children in the field, observing and learning, first hand, all about our wild brothers and sisters as they go about their daily routines – mountain goats, pika, white-tailed deer, mule deer, and the American elk, to name a few. These are just some of the exciting programs available in our “Children & Wildlife” series.
