MISSION: New Earth was created March 30, 2016, as a Colorado Nonprofit Corporation and received it’s 501(c)(3) status October 6, 2016.
Our purpose is to create a new earth where wildlife is safe and it is no longer necessary to protect our wild brothers and sisters.
Children are MISSION: New Earth’s primary focus and reaching them during their formative years is crucial to our success. As we create opportunities whereby they can make meaning-full connections with our wild brothers and sisters, they will experience the love that comes from those connections. That love will grow and blossom as they mature. People will not destroy something they love.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for children to connect with our wild brothers and sisters through photography, art, writing, and activities in the field involving wildlife; and, do this at no cost to the child. The love for animals generated out of these activities will grow as the children mature. People will not destroy and abuse something they love, and this in turn will create a new earth where is is no longer necessary to save our wild brothers and sisters.
MISSION: New Earth accomplishes these goals through education utilizing a number of methods, including but not limited to, games focusing on and featuring fun-filled facts about wildlife, instruction in various mediums of art and wildlife photography, programs by falconers, visits to wildlife rehab facilities and zoos where children learn from, and enjoy, the opportunities of interacting with handlers and care givers, and last by not least, visits to local, state, and national parks where they can experience, first hand, wildlife living and interacting in their natural world. Supervised programs allow older children and teenage youth to learn leadership skills by providing them opportunities to work with, and teach, the younger children.
This is accomplished at no cost to the child!
Fund Raising Programs
Donations from memberships and our Annual Volunteer Appreciation & Wildlife Safari provide a major portion of MISSION: New Earth’s operating fund. Funds are also generated through our Writing & Wildlife program, tailored to adults. Membership recruitment letters are sent annually to individuals on our mailing list. Membership benefits include a membership card, Certificate of Membership, and a T-shirt.
Youth Involvement
Youth are integral to MISSION: New Earth and our children’s outreach programs from inception to implementation. During the initial planning stages, they are provided with the information, criteria and tools that allow them, with adult supervision, to help us design and develop our children’s outreach programs.
Marketing is next. Once again, their ideas and assistance is utilized.
Finally, during our actual outreach programs, youth work one-on-one with the children, making sure that each child is involved, learning, and having fun.
Our goal is to provide youth with opportunities to practice and expand their leadership skills, while assisting MISSION: New Earth in reaching its goal of helping children create a new earth for our wild brothers and sisters.
